Greek National Opera presents its first co-production with the National Theatre of Greece, in a new work by Antonis Foniadakis, Galaxy. It experiments with the idea of the beginning, of creation, and the osmosis which is generated when primary elements come into contact with each other.

The performance looks at the passage from deconstruction and decryption to re-composition of a new space, which is both a key issue in the art of dance, and in the work of Antonis Foniadakis in particular.

It is a real ‘experimental’ dialogue in which the choreographer has opted not to rely on any pre-existing idea or viewpoint, nor some literary or other reference, but to leave the cast open to a game of interactions, building a multifaceted piece that involves not just their own thoughts, ideas and artistic ‘readings’ of the situation but also the choreography, sets and music.

Scientific texts, conversations from astronauts, verses, definitions of interstellar objects together with the music of György Ligeti, Iannis Xenakis, Julien Tarride accompany the dancers and two actors on their journey to the stars.
