After five years of creative journey, the intercultural opera nursery for teenagers Co-OPERAtive returns for a sixth season, reopening a space for meeting, imagination and artistic freedom. Continuing to cultivate the power of art as a bridge of communication and coexistence, the program hosts teenagers aged 14 to 18 from different schools and neighborhoods of Attica, Athenians and minor asylum seekers, in a course of weekly workshops with distinguished artists of music, theater and dance. The goal is to create an original musical theater work that will be presented in May 2026 at the Alternative Stage of the National Opera at the SNFCC.
This year, Co-OPERAtive draws inspiration from the short stories of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and magical realism – a world where the everyday meets the fantastic. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with music, speech and movement, cultivate collaboration and communication skills, and co-create a multi-layered stage universe that carries their own voice.
Activities will include dramatized musical games, improvisations, experimentation with musical instruments, body and ensemble work, leading step by step to the composition of a work that combines the richness of collective imagination with the power of artistic collaboration.
The support of the GNO Intercultural Education Actions is part of the EQUALL Corporate Responsibility actions of Piraeus and in particular the Young Generation pillar.
