Zesses Seglias is a composer of sonic bodies and lingual structures. His compositional output focuses on the relationship between the sound of the voice and its semantics, as defined by language. Much of this repertoire is for the stage, although concert pieces also share the same principle. His latest compositional activity focuses on unifying musical and spoken language in a hybrid of sound and meaning described as spoken sound theatre. He studied in Greece and Austria with Beat Furrer, Michalis Lapidakis and Dimitri Papageorgiou. Stage works: To the Lighthouse (2017), hystéra (2014), Namphaise (2018). Recent works: madrigali alla luce e al sangue (2021), Conversations (2020/22). For the year 2023, he was awarded an Austrian State scholarship for his compositional activity. He teaches at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki and the University of Thessaly.
