Italian conductor, he has been principal guest conductor at Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, Hungarian State Opera and Royal Swedish Opera. Currently he is honorary Principal conductor at the Croatian National Theatre (Zagreb). He has a wide operatic repertoire and has worked in the major opera houses worldwide such as Rome Opera, La Scala in Milan, Opéra national de Paris, La Maestranza (Seville), Bunka Kaikan (Tokyo), Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie in Brussels, Metropolitan Opera (New York), Vienna State Opera, Arena di Verona, Zurich Opera, Teatro Regio (Parma), Teatro San Carlo (Naples), Hamburg State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Frankfurt Opera. An appreciated interpreter of symphonic repertoire, he has worked, among others, with Budapest State, Radio and Philharmonic Orchestras, Flemish Radio Orchestra, Santa Cecilia and Philharmonic Orchestras of Verona, Fukuoka, Tokyo and Osaka. He recently directed the productions Tosca, Il trovatore, Carmen (Vienna State Opera) and Rigoletto (Metropolitan Opera). At the GNO he has conducted to great acclaim Opera Gala (2020), Falstaff (2023) and La traviata (2024).
