Manuela Halligan

Βorn in Rostock, she worked as a make-up artist on such productions by Robert Wilson as Shakespeare’s Sonnets and Peter Pan (Berliner Ensemble, 2009 and 2013), as well Einstein on the Beach (Asia Culture Center, Gwangju, 2015). Since then, she began creating the make-up design for his productions. Amongst their collaborations are Pushkin’s Fairy Tales (Theatre of Nations, Moscow, 2015), Edda (Det Norske Teatret, Oslo, 2017), The Sandman (Düs- seldorfer Schauspielhaus, 2017) and La Livre de la Jungle in French and German (Grand Théâtre de la Ville, Luxemburg, and Düsseldorfer Schau- spielhaus, 2019), her last creation was The Messiah (Salzburg, 2020). She is also the make-up artist for the shows in which Wilson himself performs. In addition, she created make-up and wigs for Peter Stein’s staging of Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape (2013), starring Klaus Maria Brandauer. Her portfolio includes work on Hollywood productions, television series and various video productions. Moreover, she works for award ceremonies, events, advertising billboards and campaigns.
