He is an internationally renowned lighting designer, working extensively across theatre, opera, dance and live music events. His opera credits include The Hours (MET), Nabucco (Steinbruch Festival), Alcina (Garsington), Rigoletto (Opera North), Carmen (Bregenz), Aida (Grand Théâtre de Genève), Otello, Don Giovanni, Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny (Royal Opera House), Il trovatore (LA Opera), Die lustige Witwe (English National Opera), Akhnaten (English National Opera / LA Opera / MET), Carmen (ENO/ Den Norske Opera), Il trovatore, Das Liebesverbot (Teatro Real, Madrid), Amadeus, Der Freischütz, The Cunning Little Vixen, Snow Queen (Royal Danish Opera), Salome (Valencia).
