How many stories can a neighborhood hide?

Knowing now that they never end, Prima Volta returns this year to continue its journey in Athens, with new stops, new memories and new voices, which will culminate in a musical theater performance open to the public.

Last year, the first two cycles of the program were completed with great success, embracing more than 170 participants aged 65+. This year, Prima Volta continues with the goal of bringing back to the fore the small and large stories of the city: how many narratives can fit in the same alley, how many memories can a photo awaken and how many songs and “oopas” are needed to set up a celebration?

From September to November, the program takes place at the Friendship Clubs of Agios Pavlos, Platonos Academy, Lambrini, Gyzi, Kypseli and Agios Artemios, where participants share stories from their neighborhoods, reconstruct memories through photographs, sing familiar tunes and discover new melodies.

With tools taken from the world of opera and musical theater and using the voices, images and experiences of the participants as a vehicle, Prima Volta re-weaves the thread between yesterday and today and transforms each meeting into a small celebration – full of song, emotion, memories and toasts to the future.
