Alternative Stage
Paramyfiko, a co-production with S.Mou.Th. (Synergy of Music Theatre, Larissa), was revived at the GNO Alternative Stage in a more complete, renewed version of its 2013 original, over two performances (19,20 October 2018). A huge wedding dress and an unseen mythic bride, a wedding celebration turning into a carnivorous carnival, and a dreamy ceremony evolving into a nightmare form the structural elements of this collectively-created music theatre stage composition, emphasizing visual effect over narrative. Behind its fairy-tale, lyrical and allegorical forms lies a modern, ruthless social critique: the ever-present but never-seen bride may represent a person, an idea, a belief, or any superficially praised then discarded ‘convenient myth’.
