Born in Athens, in December 1967. He started piano lessons at the age of 7. In 1985, after his studies at the Olympic Conservatory, he moved to Paris, where he lives to this day; there, he continued his studies at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique under Gérard Frémy. He has also studied with Monique Deschaussées and György Sebők. In 1992, the renowned composer and conductor Pierre Boulez chose him, after a competition, as a member of the Ensemble Intercontemporain, with which he has performed in major international venues such as Carnegie Hall (New York), Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires), Mariinsky Theatre (Saint Petersburg), Suntory Hall (Tokyo), as well as at the Salzburg, Luzern and Edinburgh Festivals. He has repeatedly collaborated with György Kurtág, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Luciano Berio, Iannis Xenakis. His discography includes Bach’s Goldberg Variations, György Ligeti’s Études and the complete piano works of Pierre Boulez.
