Sven Holm

Sven Holm studied opera directing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music. He is the director and artistic director of the Berlin opera company Novoflot, which has produced around 50 experimental opera productions since 2002. Novoflot’s production and performance venues have included the Hamburg State Opera, the Ultraschall Festival, the Warsaw Autumn Festival / Teatr Wielki, the Théâtre National du Luxembourg, the Trafó in Budapest, the Radialsystem V, the Sophiensaele, the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, Hamburger Bahnhof, the Akademie der Künste, the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Gare du Nord Basel, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Matucana 100 Santiago de Chile, Kunstfest Weimar / Nationaltheater Weimar and the Kölner Philharmonie. In 2014, Novoflot was awarded the George Tabori Prize. In parallel, Sven Holm has worked as a freelance director at the Kiel Opera, Heidelberg Theatre, Hannover State Opera, Stuttgart State Opera, Theaterhaus Gessnerallee Zurich, Bavarian State Opera and others.
